Why Shout Your Birth

We document our pregnancies on social media, and then we document our child’s first year of life.

But, rarely do we talk about the terror and triumph (or tragedy) of labor and delivery on our Instagram feeds.

Shout Your Birth creates space for birthing people to share their stories– with all the TMI details– in order to heal, connect, celebrate, mourn, triumph, share and delight in the incredible experience of birthing a human.

Mani O’Brien

Founder

I believe that by sharing the intimate details of our birth stories, we can save lives, empower birthing people, and radically transform birth practices. I aim to create a safe space to do so here. I hope you find stories that inspire and inform.

This is an ardently pro-choice space support women’s autonomy in all aspects of her body from pregnancy to birth and beyond.

Please consider contributing your own birth story; we are taking submissions now and especially interested in hearing from women of color.
